The HSBC Group decided last year to establish the Group's fifth global software development centre in Pune, India. The India Development Centre is recognition of India's rich talent pool and also a reaffirmation of HSBC's commitment to India.
The Global Technology Centre (GLT) [legal entity: HSBC Software Development (India) Private Ltd (HSDI)] was incorporated on the 4th of April 2002. Starting with modest staff strength of 25 developers and support staff, Headed by Mr. Rumi Contractor (CEO, HSDI).
